Lectures for Week #2
(September 26 to 30, 2022)

Chris Hadfield - Astronaut Watch at least the first 6 minutes. I will be honest, I can't watch the first 6 minutes without tearing up. It is inspiring. You may want to watch the whole thing. Chris Hadfield grew up in Sarnia and spent his summers on Stag Island. He still owns a cottage there.

If you haven't used ArcGIS and you are planning to get into a field of study related to environmental studies, urban studies, parks & recreation, infrastructure management, etc., you will need to familiarize yourself with ArcGIS with many more lessons (that are not part of this course). ArcGIS is a brand name, but it is the premier brand of software for analyzing satellite imagery and other spatial data. The are no limits to what the software can do. If you become an expert in ArcGIS, you will be able to get a job anywhere you want and you won't be unhappy with your salary. Watch the first 60 seconds of the video and the rest is optional.
