As Brion Dickens said, the Swift wind turbine works much better if it is not mounted on a roof (there is too much turbulence on a roof which causes wear and tear on the bearings).
As Brion also said, the Windspire has to have very specific conditions to work. He also said that the vertical blades are fighting each other on every revolution-- one side is turning into the wind while the other side is catching it.
