CHINA

Ethnicity

The majority of China's population (about 94%) are known as Han-Chinese. Most Han use a common written language and share similar cultural traits. Minority groups in China have been organized by the Communist government into autonomous regions (self-governing). Such regions have been established for groups such as the Tibetans, the Mongols and Chinese Muslims (Hui).
